If you're short on time, City Walking Tours Malta offers three signature walking tours that encapsulate the historic and cultural allure of three cities: Valletta, Mdina, and Vittoriosa.  A meagre 2 or 2.5 hour is all that each of these tours takes!

Each city boasts its own unique, timeless charm. Valletta is the country's capital, and you can sense the vibrant fusion of past and present, while in ancient Mdina, there is the effortless vibe of its noble majesty.  On the other hand, Vittoriosa is a picturesque maritime city that still daydreams of the valiant hours that it witnessed in centuries gone by.  As Malta's top three historic cities, they are a historic hub on their own, distinct from each other and your private tour guide will guide you the main architectural details but also the hidden spots.

As your private tour guide in Malta, we offer guided tours that showcase the highlights of each city.  Whether you're exploring the maritime Vittoriosa, or strolling through elegant Valletta or discovering the medieval and silent Mdina, our guided walking tours promise an unforgettable experience tailored to your preferences.

Detailed Overview

These private tours are a brisk matter of a maximum of 2.5 hours, but our tour guides will still personalise the tour and lead at your desired pace.  Meeting you at the city of your choice, according to your pre-determined itinerary, we're all ready to roll along with the story of your chosen city, be that the illustrious Valletta, the aristocratic Mdina or the industrious Vittoriosa. These three cities have all played a significant part in Malta's history.

Vittoriosa or Birgu is the harbour base, a city that was even known to the Phoenician seafarers.  With the passage of time, Vittoriosa grew into the city we see today.  The city residing on a promontory is sea-locked on most of its sides, and the whole site is nestled within the walls of a fortress. Walking through the streets there is a lot to discover.  It is not only about the story of how the city got its name, but the city is enriched with a variety of interesting buildings and quarters along with panoramic views from the fortifications.

Mdina is the capital in the midst of the countryside.  Overlooking the whole of the island, it was a natural vantage point. Mdina has a history that dates back to Roman times, and over centuries, the city evolved according to the rulers of the island.  Today, we have a medieval and refined Baroque city to discover.  Along winding streets and across squares, you will able to stroll with your guide and experience what taking a step back in time means .

On the other hand, if you opt for a quick private tour of Valletta, you will breathe in the ambience of what is Malta's capital.  A city that was designed for military advantage, with streets running in straight parallel lines, has resulted in a city where the urban landscape has enhanced the city's appeal, creating a sense of order and harmony.  This architectural ingenuity is only enriched by the various majestic buildings, such as the Auberges, the churches, the palaces and the piazzas.
